A child must be 2 years 8 months by the 31st August of the year you intend to start them in the ECCE preschool, to avail of the ECCE scheme.

The ECCE scheme comprises of 3 free hours each day, 5 days per week, totalling 15 hours free per week.

We offer a breakfast (7.45am-8.45am) and a lunch club (12-1pm/2 pm) for children attending our ECCE preschool for a monthly fee.

We follow Aistear & Siolta the National Framework Curriculum, which is play based and centred around the interests and needs of the children with Early Years Practitioners as facilitators to learning.

Curriculum focus is primarily on the interests of the children, freeplay, social interaction, self help skills & independence and lots and lots of time spent outdoors.

Children learn at their own individual pace by doing rather than following.

We also work in partnership with the Better Start AIM (Access & Inclusion Model) programme dedicated to children with additional needs.

We are a family of different backgrounds driven by the same call: to care, teach and direct children to achieve their best, to grow and to become amazing adults. We humbly help families to shape their children’s character, we laugh, cry and rejoice with them.

We are a relaxed afterschool focused on fun and creative learning in which children can take part in their choice of games and activities either indoors or outdoors. These include arts and crafts, board games, football, golf, exploring the woods, fun at the playground, dancing in our dance studio, and reading a range of different books we provide. Older children have access to a games room they can use on rainy days. A nutritious snack is offered to the children in the evening before the end of day cleaning.

Overall, we feel afterschool in Mary Geary’s offers a wide variety of amazing facilities to promote the children’s learning and development.
